March - right now

 Right now
I am eating lots of strawberries (we are just past the height of Florida strawberry season)
Bringing in the last of the azaleas to decorate my table (don't you love the Arizona tea bottle as a vase?)
And thinking and dreaming about what to make with all of these fabulous yarns and flosses -
I bought the big divided tray for 25 cents at a thrift store
and all of the yarn for $5
I am particularly enamored with the Caron Watercolours floss in the middle
Handpainted pima cotton and the colour is Caramel - so yummy
And you can't tell it from the photo but there are some silk flosses mixed in with the white, creams, and blues
Not included in the photos is a linen sleeveless blouse that I got for $2
It is an unbelievably subtle stripe of variegated blues on creamy white -
and since you know I love blue from many of my recent posts,
you know that I just couldn't resist it!
I can hardly wait till it's warm enough to wear.

Ah - the colors of Spring!
Hoping your day is filled with your favorite colors!

Springtime joy

Spring, the sweet spring, is the year’s pleasant king,
Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring,
Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing:
    Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
- Thomas Nashe
Azaleas in my yard - some in bloom and some just ready to pop!

I changed out the decor in my house for spring and St. Patrick's Day - a Belleek vase, a little cream pitcher from a garage sale, and a little green toothpick holder from Kansas City (belonged to my mother). My son gave me the Bud Light necklace (LOL!) He is now part of the 250 club at WOB (World of Beer)!?!
I changed out the quilts on the walls and took the heavy quilt off the bed - isn't it funny how when you have white walls, they can appear to be tinted depending on what accessories you have. I put blue quilts on the walls in the bedroom and the blue is being reflected onto the walls - this is great in the summer down here - our bedroom feels cool and simple.
What are you doing to get ready for Spring? Oh yes, I know that most of you are still experiencing cold weather and maybe even snow and ice (I did live in KC MO and in Denver for much of my life), but with the sun light being at a different angle, it is beginning to feel like Spring. And oh yes, the birds here are singing their little heads off - other than our mockingbird who sings half the night, it is glorious (and secretly I love the mockingbird too).
Happy days!

Spring has sprung

Tulips always mean spring to me - we cannot grow them in Florida so I always make a point to buy a bunch at the grocery store every year. I love their bright, happy colors!
I saw a wonderful nest pendant necklace on a blog (I am so sorry I cannot remember which blog and I could not find it again so thank you for the inspiration whoever you are) and decided to make my own. The one I saw had pale blue beads for eggs but I decided to use some funky beads for eggs.

I then found some nest pendants on etsy but most were circled wire with tie offs - I wanted mine to be very random-looking like a real bird's nest.
Today the weather is beautiful and it is WARM!!!! I went to see Alice in Wonderland and it is truly "wonderful". As always, Johnny Depp is brilliant!
I have finished several aprons and will be listing them this week on etsy. I will add a link here. I have also finished quite a few layouts for projects and will be posting them this week here and Tues on the Gal Blog and Wed on The Sampler.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for reading and ttfn,
Chris
